Our Foundation

The Association of Chartered Loss Prevention Specialists of Canada was founded in 2021, federally incorporated in Canada and began its first certification scheme – the Chartered Loss Prevention Specialist™ (ChLPS™). In recognition of the complex, ever-increasing and acute threat to businesses, our founders identified a serious need for an advanced knowledge-base to meet the challenges posed by these threats.

The Association was founded by a number of people from the profession, who recognized the need to develop standards in Corporate/Business Loss Prevention practices, with the objective of providing a professional standard-setting body for Loss Prevention professionals, establish and promote high objective standards in the profession, as well as increase the number of trained and qualified personnel in this specialist field.
